World Youth Forum (WYF) in Egypt 2022 (Fully Funded)

The World Youth Forum (WYF) is an annual global platform held in Egypt under the auspices of the Presidency. While the 2022 edition was a massive physical gathering in Sharm El-Sheikh, the forum has shifted its focus towards sustainable development initiatives and a hybrid presence in recent years.

Important Update: 2026 Status

The 5th Edition of the World Youth Forum has undergone a significant transformation. Due to global economic shifts, the forum has redirected its main event budget toward five major “Development Initiatives” that directly benefit youth in Egypt and across Africa and the Middle East.

The WYF Development Initiatives

Instead of a single one-week conference, the WYF is currently active through these ongoing programs:

  • Startups & SMEs Initiative: Helping entrepreneurs launch or expand businesses in cooperation with UNIDO and UNDP.
  • Learning to Earning: A qualification program to prepare youth for the labor market, implemented with UNICEF.
  • Food Security Program: Developing the capacities of farmers and food industry workers across Egypt and Africa (with FAO).
  • Mental Health Support: Providing care for refugees, migrants, and displaced persons in conflict zones (with WHO).
  • International Refugee Support: A project to help integrate refugees into educational and healthcare systems.

The “New” World Youth Forum (Porto, Portugal)

Interestingly, for 2026, a separate high-level event under the same title is being organized by the Centre for Diplomatic Advancement (CDA).
